Current Migrants
Coming back to present Singapore, a majority of our migrant workers are from India and Bangladesh.
Do you know that 20.5% of all migrant workers here are construction workers?
They form the backbone of our construction sector, contributing immensely to the development of Singapore. Their pursuit of better job opportunities have taken a toll on their safety - perpetuated through a series of corrupted agent fees, unsanitary dormitory conditions and poor working precautions.
Despite being a valuable asset to the infrastructure development, these migrants’ hardships are often overlooked by our community.
In recent years, the locals started raising awareness towards the migrant community, supporting them and integrating them into our local community.
Join us as we take a trip down one of our migrants, Mr Musjood’s life - from hardships to hope.
